Missions
- Le CEN Occitanie travaille avec les usagers des sites, mais aussi les habitants et élus, les socio-professionnels, les partenaires scientifiques, en appui aux collectivités ou encore en éducation à l’environnement. Il vise une meilleure prise en compte de la biodiversité par tous et à toutes les échelles. Son action se décline en cinq volets principaux :
- Connaître : Faire l'état des lieux des écosystèmes pour identifier les enjeux prioritaires de conservation.
- Protéger : Acheter des terrains ou passer des conventions avec des propriétaires pour assurer la protection des habitats des espèces.
- Gérer : Réaliser des travaux de conservation et d'entretien dans les espaces naturels en faveur de la biodiversité.
- Valoriser : Faire connaitre nos sites et sensibiliser le public à la richesse de la faune et de la flore qu'ils abritent.
- Accompagner : Inciter à une meilleure prise en compte de la nature dans les politiques publiques et insuffler le développement de projets de transition écologique.

After 10 of on field agricultural experiences, I specialised in food sustainability and discovered CEN Occitanie through the passionating project of Agroécopole de Mirabeau.
I joined CEN Occitanie in 2021 and my mission is to ensure that there is more ecological functionality in agricultural areas in Occitania. In fact, these areas are not only used to produce food, there are many other things that can and must happen!
For this, the entire CEN Occitanie team is mobilised: naturalists, fauna and flora experts, geomaticians, legal experts, agronomists, etc. Alongside local authorities, extension services, environnemental associations and professional farmers, we are trying to build viable, living agro-ecosystems, where farmers can make a decent living from their work and produce food while furnishing maximum of ecological functionnalities.
The Fleurs Locales project is part of this dynamic and I am coordinating it on behalf of the CEN Occitanie.

Carlos Aguiar holds a degree and a PhD? in agronomic engineering from the Instituto Superior de Agronomia (University of Lisbon). He is currently coordinating professor at the Escola Superior Agrária de Bragança, where he teaches subjects in the fields of botany and biochemistry. He has dedicated himself to the study of the flora and vegetation of mainland and insular Portugal for over 35 years. His research interests also extend to pasture agronomy, herbivore-pasture interactions, extensive animal production, tropical farming systems and the history of agronomy. Recently, as part of the Lisbon-European Green Capital 2020 and included in the Botânica em Português collection, he published three textbooks covering major topics in botany, from the evolution, biology, structure and systematics of vascular plants. Within the scope of the same collection, he was co-editor of the volume Vegetação de Portugal.

Missions
Desde 1992 el nombre de Semillas Silvestres representa en nuestro país a la empresa de referencia de semillas autóctonas. Agricultores de tradición familiar y con formación científico-técnica al más alto nivel en la producción de las semillas autóctonas y forestales, el equipo humano que hoy integra este proyecto es multidisciplinar y está involucrado vocacionalmente con la conservación de las Recursos Fitogenéticos Ibéricos.
Durante más de veinticinco años hemos participado en multitud de proyectos e investigaciones como especialistas en la producción y la tecnología de las semillas autóctonas en España. Hoy seguimos implicados en el desarrollo de un sector aún incipiente a través de la producción comercial de semillas de calidad, de manera sostenible y métodos modernos.
Como socios fundadores y miembros del Consejo de Dirección, representamos a la industria española en la recién creada Asociación Europea de Productores de Semillas Nativas y somos impulsores y creadores del Grupo de Trabajo Nacional para la Producción, Certificación y Uso de las Semillas Herbáceas Autóctonas, desde la que realizamos una importante labor para la normalización de estos estratégicos recursos en nuestro país.
