Be open-minded about job types. One of my relatives is an attractive fitness trainer. Yet, she is still alone (into her 50s) because she always declines dates from brothers who are auto mechanics, plumbers, electricians, etc. She wants a professional African American male who’s a big success, works in a big office, etc. But this plan has not worked out for her so far. The pool she’s fishing in seems too small.

Be open-minded about ethnicity. This may be hard one for some, since the “finding the good black partner” meme is so strong among us. However, if I were a woman, I would be open-minded. Not just white guys: Hispanics, Asian, whatever. I feel a bit strange writing it, but I think that is the honest truth.
