As a single mom who was in a “situation” with a younger man, I completely agree with Moxie. There ARE some men who are emotionally mature, but for the most part, you cannot expect them to know what your experiences are.

I want to chime in on a slightly different issue. I’m 27, and I have always been very mature for my age. Most of my adult life I have dated exclusively older women (not necessarily 10 years older, but it’s happened) primarily because, they’ve been the women I’ve been attracted to, and attractive to me. This past year, I dated a handful of women my age, by happenstance, and each time, I’ve been made PAINFULLY AWARE of the reasons I love older women so much.
1. Older people (with life experience) don’t blow stuff out of proportion nearly as much as younger women do.
2. Older women are better communicators than younger women
3. The older women I’ve dated treated me with more respect than younger women do.
