Well…the truth emerged a lot quicker than I’d have ever imagined.
This is great! The Rolling Stone is exposed as the rag that it is, and the author of this piece will never absolve herself of the stench of this disgrace. After this, publications will be more likely to exercise caution and investigate before giving credibility to astonishing claims with no basis in evidence whatsoever. Truth and reason are actually gaining steam…Maybe this ‘rape culture’ meme has reached a critical mass point and things are reversing.
The ONLY thing that could possible fuck this up is if someone were to publish the name of the person, post the wrong picture and claim it was her, and call and harass her parents on the phone. Then she might actually gain some sympathy, because she seems to be a disturbed young woman. And she could probably even sue the Rolling Stone, since, apparently, the writer published the piece in spite of her objections (or she has claimed as much, and the writer has fudged so much that her veracity, too, is now in question).
